Acorns Childrens Hospice are now looking for a People Manager to lead the People Team to support the organisation to drive high performance, achieve its strategic goals and give our employees a good experience. This is a new role for the organisation 

About the Role

At Acorns Children’s Hospice we offer specialist palliative care and support for children and their families across the West Midlands. We are there wherever and whenever they need us, in the hospice, community and at home. Our aim at Acorns is to help families feel equipped to cope at every stage of their child’s life with dedicated teams offering psychological, emotional and practical support. 

As People Manager, you will:

  • Lead the People Management function of two direct reports and wider team of four
  • Be the subject matter expert for employee relation matters
  • Work with teams across the organisation, understanding operational challenges and opportunities, embedding the people plan into each department
  • Lead on the organisational approach to the employee performance and development lifecycle
  • Ensure the organisation's wellbeing offer is relevant and meaningful 

About You

  • Generalist HR background
  • Experience of working in a complex organisation
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent employment law knowledge
  • Ability to engage people effectively and influence

What We Offer

  • £42,000 to £47,000 per annum
  • 37 hours per week
  • Hybrid working - office based in Wythall (B47 6JR) and remote working
