Acorns Children's Hospice are looking for an Area Fundraising Officer to raise money within the local community to support the care that we provide at Acorns. This role will cover the local area of our Three Counties Hospice

About the Role

Acorns is currently the UK’s largest children’s hospice charity, in terms of both numbers of children and families supported, and annual expenditure on our care work.  We need to raise more than £11 million each year to run and support our care services and we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of our local community.  

As an Area Fundraising Officer, you will: 

  • Work with local businesses, organisations, places of education and individuals, supporting their fundraising goals
  • Share case studies, telling great stories to supporters to ensure that they understand the difference that their donations make
  • Achieve financial targets and non-financial KPIs
  • Prepare and deliver pitches, talks and presentations to secure financial support
  • Maintain records on our CRM - Donorfy - accurately documenting communication with supporters
  • Recruit and work with volunteers who will support fundraising efforts
  • Travel independently throughout the Three Counties region, often outside of office hours

About You

  • Experience of meeting targets and KPIs
  • Proven success in fundraising or sales
  • Strong communication, presentation and administrative skills
  • There will be travel to several sites, so you’ll need to be able to travel across your allocated region, sometimes out of hours
  • You’ll have a passion for charity work and a strong commitment to the organisational performance and the care that we provide

  • £27,000 - £32,000 per annum

You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and therefore any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and will be asked to provide two satisfactory references.
