We are looking for an Events Manager to develop and deliver the Acorns calendar, identifying fundraising events across the year.  This role is offered on a 12-month fixed term basis (maternity cover).

About the Role

Acorns is currently the UK’s largest children’s hospice charity, in terms of both numbers of children and families supported and annual expenditure on our care work.  We need to raise more than £11 million each year to run and support our care services and we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of our local community. 

As Events Manager, you will:

  • Lead, coordinate and organise both Acorns events and third party events
  • Attend organised events, managing the day and attendees
  • Create event project plans, reviewing feasibility and budgets and producing post-event analysis
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop marketing plans 
  • Ensure the highest levels of customer care to all event participants before, during and after events
  • Provide line management of the Events Officers

About You

  • Proven experience of running a fundraising events programme
  • Experience of meeting targets and KPIs
  • Line management experience
  • Ability to travel across the region to attend to events, including transportation of event material and equipment
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours to attend events

What We Offer

  • £37,000 to £44,000 per annum (FTE)
  • 37 hours per week

You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and therefore any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and will be asked to provide two satisfactory references.
