Acorns Children's Hospice Trust are looking for a Clinical Support Worker for our Three Counties Hospice in Worcester to deliver holistic care of children and young people who are life limited/ life threatened with special responsibility for delivering play and activities.

About the Role

Acorns provides care for babies, children and young people, who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, both in our hospices and in their homes. Our Clinical Support Workers are part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering care packages that are tailored to each child’s individual holistic needs – and we’re structured so that you’ll simply ‘have the time to care’.

As a Clinical Support Worker, you will:

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate play programs, activities and events for children and adolescents
  • Work with the Hospice Matron and care team to prepare activity programmes
  • Create opportunities that support the education, learning and development needs of children and young people
  • Maintain the resources of the playroom, bedrooms and hobbies room

About You

  • Experience in a creative environment for children and young people with complex health needs
  • Creative approach to activities and play
  • Experience of working with families
  • NVQ in Health & Social Care or similar

You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and therefore any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and will be asked to provide two satisfactory references.
